Charity Show - 20 August 2012

Many thanks to everyone who attended the show in 2011 - we raised a fantastic £1500 for Cancer Research!  I have been persuaded to put on another show in 2012 and we have booked the 20 August with Caroline at Church Brook Farm for a very similar fun day.

For 2011 many thanks to everyone who helped out, especially out judges Richard Selleck and Caroline Lovejoy for the showing, Zoe Duck and Sara-Jane Lanning for the dressage, Lizzy Long and Annie Lyons for the novelty classes, Carli Pike for the gymkhana games and of course Linda Rope and Graham for arranging, setting up and judging the show jumping.  There were so many helpers on the day I'm bound to forget someone if I name people, so many thanks to you all - it couldn't happen without you.

Congratulations to all competitiors too - I hope you had an enjoyable day.  We did get some good feedback from a lot of people which is always great - so many thanks.  And of course I'm sure there are things which can be improved so let me know for next year.

And of course to all those who sponsored the event - we wouldn't have had nearly so much to donate without your support!  Sponsorship raises about £600 and covers the rosettes as well as contributing towards the cost of some of the essentials - but as you can see without them we would only have made a few hundred pounds for Cancer Research.  This years sponsors were:

  • Brunswick Place Veterinary Clinic
  • Threshers Barn Animal Feed Merchants
  • Dave Hallum, Farrier
  • Triteq Ltd
  • Dee Dear
  • NRH Photography
  • Jenny and Victoria Thompson
  • Horse and Rider Saddlery
  • J Long Motor Engineers
  • Bryant and Freeman, Agricultural Contractors
  • The Ship Inn, Ashford Hill
  • Whitchurch Equine Veterinary Practice

We also had prizes donated by Tadely Pet Supplies and Robinsons, so very many thanks to them too.

The 2012 schedule should be out in May 2012, so keep your eye on the website and in local tack shops.  We will send a copy to all 2011 competitiors - if we have your full address on the entry form.

And of course, very many thanks again to John and Caroline Alexander for allowing us to use their great facilities free of charge!
