Foals

We had some very exciting foals in 2009! With the recession we cut back on our breeding programme and only covered 2 mares for 2010; unfortunately as we left it a little late, neither mares took and we have decided to hold off on breeding more foals until 2011 - so our next crop will be due in spring 2012.  But these pictures (which will be updated with "yearling" photos soon)  show the quality of horse we are breeding.  Everyone who has seen them has been very impressed by their quality and their friendliness - we pride ourselves on the way we handle and produce our youngstock!

First born in 2009 was a stunning bay filly, born on 22 May 2009.  She is by the outstanding stallion, Concorde and is out of our lovely Thoroughbred mare, Danzig Star (Danzig Connection x Thatching).  She is an extremely attractive filly with superb markings, four white socks which are very evenly marked, a white star and a snip on her muzzle.  She is very well put togther and looks like she will be a star of the future.

Born on 28 May, next is a very classy bay colt.  He is by the exciting young Dutch stallion, Spielberg, out of Donner Charisma (Donnersong x Pik Bube).  He is extremely long legged and has a very elegant head and neck.  He has virtually no white on him at all, just a little on one front leg.  We have already had a number of people interested in him and think he will sell quickly as people see his outstanding quality!

Next born on 28 June was another stunning bay colt, by the super Dutch stallion, Sandreo out of our beautiful young mare Amusora (Florencio x Lancet).  As you can see from the photos, he has a lot of presence and is an extremely friendly young colt.  He has beautiful markings, looks like an all round winner!  Both photos were taken on 21 July at 3 weeks old.

Finally, but certainly not least, on 30 June a super bay colt was born to our promising young jumping mare, Amsterdam (Burggraaf x Concorde) by the lovely Belgian stallion Plinius B.  He is full of character and has lovely conformation - like Hope above looks like he is made for the show jumping ring.  Both pictures taken on 21 July at 3 weeks old.
